Profile of a woman wearing round black-iron glasses — key visual of 0.1 millimetre
Visual Identity — №10

0.1
millimetre

An identity for a handmade eyewear atelier. '0.1mm changes a face' — the smallest unit a frame maker files away became the mark itself.

Speak of a face
in the smallest unit.

A pair of glasses changes its fit and its expression with a 0.1mm adjustment. An atelier's value lives in that invisible precision.

The more one lists words like 'craft' and 'handmade', the more every atelier looks the same. What was needed was to make precision itself legible at a glance — a mark to return to, whether in the corner of a card or engraved on a case.

The 0.1 mark and tagline
Mark — the three shapes of 0.1 become rim, rivet and temple
02Design — A record of decisions

The mark is made only of the three shapes in '0.1'. Nothing was added.

03What We Refused

Not a mark that talks,
but one that measures.

One by one, we let go of the temptation to add 'atelier-ness'.

Front and back of the business card
Business Card — black iron front, one vertical line on the back
04Outcome

Turn the card over and there is a single vertical line: 'a face changes at one-tenth of a millimetre.' On the black-iron front, a small mark of only a rim, a rivet and a bar. Without knowing the atelier's name, you know what it cares about.

The smallest unit, made into the largest promise. That is this mark's work.
